The past three months have been a bit of a whirlwind, and honestly, it’s been a lot to take in. I had the incredible opportunity to attend Dreamforce 2024 in San Francisco, and right afterr that, I tackled and passed the Salesforce Data Architect certification. Both experiences have shifted how I think about my work and how I can bring even more value to the team and folks I work with. Here’s a bit about how these milestones have shaped my approach moving forward.
Dreamforce 2024: More Than Just a Conference 🌉
There’s something special about San Francisco and Dreamforce. Every year, it’s like the whole Salesforce ecosystem converges for a massive exchange of ideas. This time, it felt more focused on how AI, data, and automation are coming together to power better business decisions and streamline processes. Of course there was a bunch of Slack learnings in there!
Between the product keynotes, hands-on sessions, and catching up with peers in the industry, I came back buzzing with new ideas. The whole event made me realize how important it is to think beyond the platform and connect the dots between systems, workflows, and people. It reinforced that being a product owner is not just about managing systems but also ensuring what we build truly serves the people who use it.
Earning the Data Architect Certification: Hard Work That Paid Off 🎯
On top of Dreamforce, I took on the challenge of earning the Salesforce Data Architect certification. Preparing for it was no joke – I dove deep into data models, integrations, and governance principles, and it really stretched me to think about how systems work together at scale.
The process wasn’t just about passing the exam (though I’m super glad I did!). It forced me to take a more strategic view of data – not just as something to manage but as a tool to solve real business problems. I’ve already found that I’m making decisions differently now, thinking about how data architecture can create smoother processes, better reporting, and a stronger foundation for future growth.
Connecting the Dots and Driving Impact 🚀
These two experiences – Dreamforce and the Data Architect certification – have had a big impact on how I show up at work. I feel more equipped to ask better questions, design smarter solutions, and guide stakeholders through decisions that will set us up for long-term success.
One of the biggest changes is how I’m now building more aligned roadmaps. Rather than just focusing on what’s needed today, I’m thinking ahead to make sure we create solutions that scale smoothly and are easy for users to adopt. I’m also leaning into more collaborative conversations with the team, making sure our processes are set up for both efficiency and flexibility.
What’s Next: Continuing the Journey ✨
The last few months have been packed, but they’ve also been a game-changer for me. I’m excited to keep applying what I’ve learned and push forward with new projects. Dreamforce always leaves me inspired, and this year was no different – I’ve come back with fresh ideas and renewed energy.
Passing the Data Architect exam has also given me a new level of confidence, and I’m excited to see how I can keep refining the way I approach complex problems and build out data-driven solutions. The momentum is strong, and I can’t wait to see what the next few months bring.
