The comedown after the Build Up

2–3 minutes

We’ve been back in Australia for 2 weeks, after almost a month overseas. It was a wonderful opportunity to relax and recharge after the build-up and Dreamforce itself.

Thankfully I had a few days to recover from travel and jet lag before I was back into it at work. My boss told me the sign of a good holiday was being ready and eager to get back to work, so I guess I really had a great holiday! I couldn’t help myself (when I mentioned in my interviews for my last 2 roles I was a lifelong learner; I was speaking 100% truth!) I squeezed in some study whilst I was on the go, and am happy to have added 2 more certificates since I’ve returned.

We’ve used Slack in both my current and previous role; however, after seeing what’s possible at the Slack display and sessions at Dreamforce, I set myself a goal to complete the admin-certified exam by the end of November. I was grateful to pass on my first attempt. The learning was presented well, and I felt I got a lot out of it. Now I can proudly wear the socks I won on the final day 🙂

I also set a goal to finish the Sales Business Excellence training in the Partner Learning Camp. I wanted to understand what happens in the sales process before a project arrives for the delivery team. This was another really comprehensive training program, and no doubt it will help me move forward.

I feel I’ve barely touched on the Dreamforce experience. It was truly awesome; I met some wonderful people who I’d connected with only virtually till that point. After the initial confusion which lasted at least the first full day, I got the hang of things including how to use the app to find and favourite the sessions I was interested in and navigating the large area that Dreamforce covered. I also found the best coffee and meal services.

There were plenty of after-hours events, which I will share in another post. Back to the reality of work now, I wonder what I’ll learn today?!
