Excitement (or Exhaustion?!)

1–2 minutes

It’s been a full-on 3 weeks adjusting to my new role. I’m really enjoying the work I’m doing and also the way how we work. With all of my studies, I was keen to focus on agile methods and understand how to use a Jira board. FSL is entirely new to me, and I’m doing my best to come up to speed on all of its gotchas.

During a discussion with a colleague, he mentioned he was struggling with work-life balance. Finding time to study for some new certs was proving challenging. This was one of the main reasons I continue to work a 4 day week. I’m focused on #alwayslearning, and whilst there is no doubt this is happening on the job I am committed to intentional learning.

Speaking of which, the Strategy Designer certificate is next on my hit list. I’m thoroughly enjoying the learning for this certificate. I knew there was a path that would guide me on how to understand and lead sessions on getting to the heart of a project, and this is the start of it. I’m doing my best not to rush through the content, as I want to comprehensively understand the topic.

My last bit of news is, that I’m off to Dreamforce!!! I am beyond excited about this; my whole family is making the journey to spend a month in the USA. This will start with a week in San Francisco. Thankfully I will bunk with a good friend for the 4 nights of the conference so I can enjoy all of the day and night events while my husband and kids go off and explore (Alcatraz anyone?!)
