I have shared about this event during the last week, and the day finally arrived yesterday. I really had no idea what to expect but was inspired by some of the people I met in 1:1 sessions and the group sessions. Having the opportunity to talk to so many possible employers, felt like the old days of speed dating.
In the group session it took a few minutes to work out who exactly were the employers and the jobseekers, as there is no clear distinction on your profile, simply your name. We took it in turns speaking after being directed by the interviewers. Seeing the interaction between the employees of some companies was enlightening and showed a glimpse of what it could be like to work there.
It is amazing how much could be conveyed in such a short period of time; I was particularly impressed by one Senior and his Junior. It was clear he was supportive, and extremely proud of her accomplishments. All I kept thinking was “What do I need to do to work for him??”
